Course Content

Getting Started
Welcome to Onshape 101! In this section, you’ll set up your free Onshape account and learn how to navigate the interface. We'll cover the basics of sketching—your first step into 3D modeling. By the end, you'll know how to start a project and create simple shapes with confidence.

  • Lesson 1: Getting Started with Onshape & Sketching Basics
  • Quiz 1: Onshape Basics & Sketching Concepts

Modeling Parts
Now that you're comfortable in Onshape, it's time to build real parts! You'll model three components of a simple 4-bar linkage: a long bar, a short bar (using a drawing challenge), and a pin made with a new tool—revolve. This section builds your confidence in sketching, extruding, and understanding basic part design.

Assembly
With all three parts created, it’s time to bring them together. In this section, you’ll learn how to create an assembly and use mates to simulate motion. By the end, you’ll have a working 4-bar linkage that moves just like a real mechanical system!

Final Wrap-Up
You’ve completed your first Onshape project! In this final section, we’ll review what you’ve learned, highlight important skills, and suggest next steps to keep growing your CAD skills. You'll also take a final quiz to reinforce your knowledge and celebrate your progress.
